Get certified. Get hired. Learn the language of your next job.
NJ Knowledge is New Jersey’s learning platform for professional certifications, exam prep, and language courses — built for working adults and career changers.
Language Courses
Learn a language — free online, or in person
Two ways to learn: our own free online Spanish course, built in depth for real conversation — or paid in-person classes in several languages with a teacher.
Paid In-Person Classes
Learn with a teacher, in person. Pick a language, enter your ZIP code, and find verified in-person classes near you in New Jersey.
These classes are offered by independent schools and adult programs across New Jersey — not by NJ Knowledge. Details verified on each provider’s own page on 2026-10-15. Confirm schedule and price with the provider before signing up.
Coding Courses
Learn to code — build real websites
Our own free coding course: 53 guided lessons from your first HTML tag to publishing your own website on the internet.

Questions
Before you enroll
Are the certifications the real, official ones?
Yes. Courses prepare you for the official credential from the issuing body — CompTIA, Amazon Web Services, the New Jersey Department of Health (CNA), the NJ Real Estate Commission, ServSafe, OSHA, and others. You sit the official exam, and the credential is issued by that body, not by us.
I work full-time. Can I actually fit this in?
That’s who the schedule is built for. Most courses run as live online lessons in the evening or as weekend cohorts, with recordings and practice work available on your phone. Typical commitment is 4–6 hours a week.
Do language courses follow a recognized level system?
Yes — our own Spanish course is free and follows CEFR levels A1 (beginner) through C1 (advanced) across its Beginner, Moderate and Expert sections. A 12-question placement test at the start puts you at the right level.
What does the course price include?
For paid certification and exam-prep courses: instruction, all course materials, practice exams, and instructor support through your exam date. Official exam or licensing fees charged by the issuing body are separate and are listed on each course outline before you enroll. Our Spanish language course is the exception — it is ours, and it is completely free, with no enrollment and no card required.
I’m new to New Jersey and my English is limited. Where do I start?
Start with the free placement check, then add GED prep or a job certification like ServSafe, CDL, or OSHA 30 — that’s exactly what the “New to the U.S.” career path is designed for.
Can my employer pay for my course?
Yes — many employers reimburse certification training. Download any course outline from its course page and share it with your manager or HR; it lists the credential, hours, and skills covered.
Exam Prep
Prep that ends with a passed exam
Knowing the material is half the test. Our prep courses drill the other half — timing, question formats, and the traps each exam is known for.
- Full-length practice exams under real timed conditions, scored by section.
- Evening & weekend cohorts so prep fits around a work schedule.
- A personal study plan built from your first diagnostic test.
Your next job is asking for a credential. Go get it.
